SA First Home Owner Grant

Qualifying home buyers still get access to the $15k grant from the SA government when they build a new home. The good news is, this $15k can be used towards your deposit!

HomeBuilder Grant

This extra $25k is from the June HomeBuilder program announcement. It’s a brand new grant that is available for new build contracts entered into prior to December 31st. Conditions do apply but most first home buyers that build a new home will qualify.

Extra Contribution

The extra $10,000 is another contribution available to qualifying home buyers. We help you work out if this extra amount is something you can qualify for.

First home buyers in SA that qualify for all three grants and contributions can access up to an incredible $50,000 in bonuses and contributions. Further information about eligibility is listed below. There has never been a better time to get out of renting and own your own home.

HomeBuilder Grant Qualification Criteria

Applicants for HomeBuilder must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the scheme.

Based on 2018/2019 financial year tax returns, Singles must be earning $125,000 or less and Couples must have a combined incomes of less than $200,000
You must be building a new home
The purchase price of the new home (house and land included) must be less than $750,000
You must enter into a contract to build between 4 June 2020 and 31 December 2020.
It's available to Australian citizens aged 18 years or older. You cannot but your home under a company or trust structure.

SA First Home Owner Grant Qualification Criteria

To be eligible for the SA FHOG, you’ll need to meet several conditions:

At least one applicant must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident.
It's available to home buyers aged 18 years or older. You cannot but your home under a company or trust structure.
You must be building a new home
The purchase price of the new home (house and land included) must be less than $575,000
You must not have previously owned a residential property anywhere in Australia before 1 July 2000.
You must not have owned residential property in Australia after 1 July 2000, which you have lived in for six months or more.
You need to live in the home for a minimum of six months within 12 months of taking ownership or following completion of construction.

Extra $10k Contribution Qualification Criteria

To be eligible for the extra $10,000 contribution, you’ll need to meet the conditions below:

You need to get a special type of loan through Homestart, called the Graduate Loan.
You, or someone you are buying the property with needs a Certificate III, diploma, degree or higher qualification through a university, TAFE or another Registered Training Organisation, provided in the form of an official academic Transcript or Certificate. If on a joint loan, the borrower with the certification must be employed
Be an Australian citizen or hold Permanent Residency or skilled migrant status in Australia
You must buy or build a home in South Australia for you to live in
Have evidence of 3 months continuous employment with the same employer
Be over 18 years of age and have a clear credit history
Your rent and/or savings needs to be the same or more than the proposed HomeStart home loan repayment amount.
In addition, the house you are building need to be built through a builder that is accredited with Homestart
